About small arts grants
Voluntary groups, community organisations and individuals across Coventry are now invited to apply for funding. Up to £1,000 is available for arts projects.
Who is eligible?
Applications are invited from eligible groups whose projects will meet at least one of the four following priorities:
Extend access and increase participation
Increase skill and creativity
Create better opportunities for local people
Increase volunteering opportunities for local people

Transitions Dance Company auditions
Transitions Dance Company, the UK's first postgraduate contemporary dance company, is looking for male and female dancers for entry in September 2011.
Distinguished alumni include Luca Silvestrini, Brooke Smiley, Leila McMillan, Tom Dale and Matthew Bourne.
Train at an advanced level within a professional company environment
Work with the world's most exciting choreographers, and tour venues in the UK and overseas
Gain a MA Dance Performance* as a member of Laban's Graduate School (scholarships available).*Subject to admissions requirements
Auditions will be held throughout April - June.

Directed by founder Kate Mason, the programme weaves together three related pieces that explore life, love and art by five characters set against three different settings.

New classes for Spring with Motionhouse Dance Theatre

Motionhouse will be running a range of classes for children of all ages and abilities over the next few months. The company will be organizing two 8 week contemporary dance courses for over 16s and Easter courses for children aged between 5 and 13 in their Leamington Spa Studio.
The Contemporary Beginners class offers the opportunity for over 16s to learn fun routines and short sequences as well as develop some basic lifting and partnering skills.

The Contemporary Advanced class is open to anyone with experience in dance and will be challenging and high-energy. The course will concentrate on developing fast-paced sequences and floor work as well as lifts, catches, jumps and some acrobatics.
The Contemporary classes will be running every Thursday from 24 March until 12 May 2011, with the beginners class running from 6.30pm – 7.30pm and the advanced class running from 7.30pm – 9.00pm.
Motionhouse have also devised classes to keep local youngsters entertained over the Easter break. Dance Instructor required by Sport 4 Life UK
Sport 4 Life are looking for a highly skilled Dance Instructor to deliver their Us Girls project - a structured programme of dance classes that aims to support women aged 16-25 years old to get active. Classes will focus on providing women with a medium-high impact cardio-vascular workout, while simultaneously having fun learning dance moves in a group setting. The project will consist of a mix of some or all of hip-hop classes, street dance classes, bollywood, salsa-cise classes, and zumba classes depending on the speciality and expertise of the chosen instructor.
Classes will be delivered across the city of Birmingham in a range of school and community venues, and will take place at weekends, evenings, and during the day. The newly appointed Dance Instructor will be employed on a part-time basis (18-20 hours per week) on a 12 month fixed–term contract from June 1st 2011 to May 31st 2012, and will earn a salary in the range of £16,000-£18,000 pro rata per annum depending on experience.
Sport 4 Life are looking for an exceptional candidate, who has an infectious passion and enthusiasm for dance instruction, who has top quality dance instruction abilities (with an expertise in the class types listed above), and who has an excellent track record as a community dance instructor. They are looking for a candidate who can engage with and relate to young women, and who is up for the challenge of delivering dance coaching in inner city Birmingham!

An electrifying triple bill under the title ‘Consequences’ choreographed by three prominent UK choreographers who take us on a compelling journey of cause and effect, in a pulse-racing mix of energetic dance, theatre and music.Nigel Charnock’s Pandemonium is a thunderously chaotic chunk of dance theatre exploring the effects of order and chaos on our lives. Yael Flexer’s What If? sees four dancers caught in the ripple effect of their own on stage decisions.
