Fidelio Charitable Trust: Open to applications

The Trust provides grant funding to help individuals and organisations of exceptional ability in the UK who would not otherwise be able to carry out an artistic project or activity without financial support.

Maximum Value: £ 5,000

The Fidelio Charitable Trust is provided and administered by the Fidelio Charitable Trust and is for educational institutions and third sector organisations active in the UK. The Arts Grant is intended to support talented individuals or groups who are unable to reach their potential without financial support.

In particular, the programme wishes to fund work in the following areas:
Dramatic arts
Operatic arts
Music
Speech
Dance

Deadlines for receipt of applications: 1 February, 1 June and 1 October each year.

Key Criteria:
Applications are accepted on behalf of individuals and groups who are practitioners or performers in the Arts as well as institutions and colleges providing opportunities for those studying, practicing or performing.

Proposed grantees must be recommended by an appropriate person in an institution, college, arts festival or similar organisation that can vouch for the abilities of the applicant.

There is no upper age or nationality restriction and the work for which money is sought may be overseas but the proposed recipient(s) must be based in the UK.

Eligible Expenditure:
The Trust welcomes applications in support of the Arts, in particular the dramatic and operatic arts, music, speech and dance.

Grants may be awarded to enable individuals or groups of exceptional ability to:
receive special tuition or coaching, eg in the case of musicians, to attend Master Classes;
participate in external competitions;
be supported for a specially arranged performance; or
receive support for a special publication, musical composition or work of art.

Restrictions:
Applications from individuals or groups seeking support for themselves will not be accepted.

Application Procedure:
Applications can be made by submitting the application form and a covering letter. Applications must be posted and an email address must be listed for further correspondence. Successful applicants will be notified within 28 days.

Community Grant Fund - Royal Leamington Spa

Financial assistance is available to voluntary and community organisations for projects that will benefit the residents of Royal Leamington Spa.

Maximum Value:
£ 2,000
Grants are normally less than £2,000.

The Community Grant Fund is provided and administered by the Royal Leamington Spa Town Council. Funding is intended to support voluntary and community organisations that have one-off projects that would benefit the community, or a large number of residents, of Royal Leamington Spa.

Key Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:


  • Be a not-for-profit organisation.

  • Have a constitution and/or articles of association.

  • Have a bank account in the name of the organisation.

Projects must:



  • Be located in the Parish of Royal Leamington Spa.

  • Benefit a significant number of people living within the Parish of Royal Leamington

  • Benefit the whole community or a specific group whose principal objectives are not those of a single individual.

  • Be one-off and for under £2,000.

Applications will be evaluated according to a number of factors, including the following:



  • Social inclusion-projects that address problems of social deprivation, disadvantage etc.

  • Degree of community development/public involvement.

  • Partnership working and match funding

  • Sustainability (impact in terms of environment).

Eligible Expenditure
Costs associated with eligible one-off projects.


Restrictions
The following are not eligible for funding:



  • Projects that benefit a single individual.

  • Ongoing revenue costs. (Please note there may be exceptional circumstances when funding for ongoing revenue costs may be considered for applicants that have offered a range of services for a number of years.)

Changes to Awards for All funding programmes

Awards for All have announced some important changes to its funding programme
and organisations can now apply for £10,000 every year rather than every two years, and Awards for All will now fund repeat events and activities more than three years apart, up to £10k.

Grants available for small arts projects across the rural areas of Warwick District & Rugby Borough

Arts on our Doorstep provides professional advice, practical support and resources up to the value of £5,000 for small arts projects across the rural areas of Warwick District and Rugby Borough.

Are you a member of a group with a creative idea to bring your community together or would like to develop an arts project with a positive impact on your environment? Perhaps you’re an artist who would like to share your skills with your neighbours? Arts on our Doorstep could be for you.

The scheme offers an opportunity to develop new arts projects/events, enhance existing projects by introducing new activity, & working with professional artists or develop new participants and audiences. There are no restrictions on art forms and a member of the Arts on our Doorstep support team can help you with developing your ideas and making the application.

Professional Development Opportunity for Creative Practitioner (West Midlands):
Bursary opportunity as part of the Dreams and Realities project

In the autumn of 2011, Women of Wolverhampton are working with artists from Laundry on a project on the Scotlands estate. They would like to offer a bursary of £900 to a young and emerging locally based artist to participate in this project on the Scotlands estate. They have no preference for artform. They are more interested in artists seeking to expand their practice within a social context.

Warwick District Council Arts Development Grants
Current Criteria

Grants are available to Arts and Heritage Organisations delivering activity within Warwick District for any amount up to £2,500. Funding will be considered for:


  • Original, high quality imaginative projects which take place within Warwick District.

  • Projects that clearly demonstrate development and increased access to arts/heritage

Priority will be given to projects which:



  • Increase participation / attendance in the arts in the Warwick district.

  • Contribute towards / celebrate the Cultural Olympiad.

  • Help creative businesses contribute to the local economy.

  • Help create stronger, safer, healthier communities.

  • Help revitalise and enhance public spaces.

  • Increase / enhance cultural tourism.

  • Raise the profile of arts activity in the district.

  • Facilitate / develop networking or partnership working.

  • Help develop a thriving cultural quarter in south Leamington.

  • Help develop international links.

Funding will not be available for:



  • School based activities which take place during normal school hours.

  • Projects which only benefit an individual.

When can I apply?
The remaining deadlines for 2011-12 are:



  • Monday 26th September 2011

  • Monday 12th December 2011

Please note that late applications will not be considered.
Please allow four weeks for a decision on the application and enough time to prepare and plan for the activity. We recommend that the activity is planned to start no earlier than seven days after the date you can expect the Council to make a decision.

About small arts grants
Voluntary groups, community organisations and individuals across Coventry are now invited to apply for funding. Up to £1,000 is available for arts projects.

Who is eligible?
Applications are invited from eligible groups whose projects will meet at least one of the four following priorities:
Extend access and increase participation
Increase skill and creativity
Create better opportunities for local people
Increase volunteering opportunities for local people

BBC Performing Arts Fund - Young People's Musical Theatre scheme




Young People’s Musical Theatre scheme
The BBC have now launched their new scheme that aims to encourage young people to take part in musical theatre. The new initiative, called the Young People's Musical Theatre scheme, is offering £200,000 in grants for training and development, and particularly for projects that encourage new members or audiences. The scheme is open to non-profit theatre groups which have a youth section, or are made up of members who are under the age of 25. Theatre groups applying should regularly put on musical theatre productions, but funding is also available for those wishing to produce a musical for the very first time! Groups may wish to work with other local groups or schools, run workshops with professionals, or apply for funding in order to hire a live band, director or choreographer.
Applications can be made via our website now and will close at 5pm on Tuesday 30th November 2010.
The winners will be announced in January 2011.
