Dancer/Performer Wanted

Wriggle Dance Theatre is a new and ambitious Northamptonshire based professional company, specialising in dance performance for children.

The company have recently been awarded funding from Arts Council England to undertake a two phase project of research and development in order to create a high quality, interactive dance performance, and investigate opportunities for imaginative participation for children and their families.

Wriggle are looking for a dancer to join the company initially for the Research and Development and production phases with the possibility of a future national tour, subject to funding.

Experience needed:
The person should have a real interest in making work for young children, and be experienced and willing to work creatively including through improvisational techniques.
The person should have a strong dance technique and performance background and have experience with children.

Availability
Rehearsals will take place in Northampton and Corby during the following periods;

Phase 1
10 studio research days between Oct 1st – Jan 2012
Go-see research trip 22nd October 2011
3 days to test research in schools Jan 2012
up to 10 x workshops to test research Nov - Jan 2012
1 day -Informal industry sharing of work Jan/Feb 2012
Phase 2
15 studio production days Feb – May 2012
Public premiere May 2012

Fee
Studio days/3 days in schools - £150 per day
Workshops/research trip - £100 per session
